For the initial language selection, our server checks the IP address against a local country database. Connections from Germany receive German; all others receive English. No external location service is contacted. When you choose EN or DE, the technically necessary trusted_ones_language cookie remembers this preference for one year. The film loads directly from our server. Session storage remembers, for each language, whether the introductory film has already been shown in this tab.
